Shooting some b-ball outside (and inside) of school

This winter Grant played on the Newark Modified basketball team, in the AECC (our community center) basketball league and as part of the AECC travel All Star team. Needless to say, our winter was filled with basketball! every Saturday and Sunday were travel tournaments-most no farther than an hour away.

The modified team this year was split into two. Both teams had 7th and 8th graders. Grant was known for his awesome defense skills and his fast sprinting down the court (the basketball court is much smaller than the soccer field!).  Here are some still shots of him-number 11.

Here is a quick video taken at our home Middle School gymnasium:
Dad coached the AECC team that played every Saturday morning. This year they were "Magic". Grant was number 11. They had a great season and won the championship!

The traveling All Star team consisted of 8th graders from the AECC teams. Basketball made the weekends busy but it's always fun to cheer on Grant from the stands!

Enjoy some Jazz in January-in May!

I am waaaay behind updating the blog! Today I spent some time organizing videos and pictures to share with all you (labeling folders of course!) I hope to have some new blog posts up soon. Now...let's rewind to just after the New Year...

Coming back from Christmas break we lost no time filling up our family calendars with rehearsals, basketball games and concerts! This year Olivia is part of both the Jazz Band and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble at the high school. She's an alto in both...alto voice part and alto sax in band.
Smiling in the alto section!

Jammin' out in the alto sax section!
NERD! :)
I taped a few of the selections to post on here. First up are some pieces by the Vocal Jazz ensemble:
